Asvin means possessed of horses in the Veda. Name of two divinities who appear in the sky before the dawn in a golden chariot, drawn by horses or birds. They were at the head of Aries and they started the Saptarisa calendar, right where today the ecliptic goes below the celestial equator. The Indus sign on the top left with the Hittite sign for horse next to it. The relationship between the Chineze and Indus signs that are brought out better in the last pages but here I point out the chariot sign of China with signs that evolved from it. The Chinese sign for horse is very similair to this Indus sign (illustration page 26 on the front page) |
