Two scorpions facing off, these same two scorpions are in Mesopotamian and Indus seals. Our Zodaic Scorpio has remained in this location from the time of this Indic calendar. The Sanskit name for scorpion is Visakha it is also the 16th Saptarisa constellation. The next constellation is Jyeshtha where the Sanskrit word for astronomy comes from. The club that is in Khsi the polar constellation runs along 16 degrees and represents the defference between the Ecliptic pole and the Celestial pole ( explained in the key to the rohina system). The next constellation is Mula that means the lowest end, today this is the lowest point of the ecliptic. By making Polaris the end of the calendar Mula would be the predicted lowest point. |
